Palau Trip

Palau is truly a wonderful place to visit with unmatched natural beauty, I was visiting Palau for a day day and found the island is irresistable charming. I do not have enough time to visit the famous rock island and the jelly fish lake unforturnately, but had a taste of the best blue-fin tuna. It is well worth the visit.

Pohnpei, FSM

I had a chance to travel to Pohnpei, FSM for business last weekend. I stayed in the rainbow cliff hotel for one day and a half. I tried to drive around to shoot some pictures, but due to shot of time, could not do so. However, there was a hut in front of the hotel which I though was quite interesting. I took three exposure and merged into HDR. I am happy with the result.

Guam Photowalk

Last Sunday, I did a photo walk for some scene off southern Guam using my new Polarized filter. I am happy with the result and learnt a lot about landscape photography. Any critics are welcome.

Sanyo point and shoot

•February 7, 2009 • Leave a Comment

I got a small point and shoot camera today from work, it is a Sanyo VPC-E760. It has 7 mp and claims to have ISO up to 1000. i was actually thinking of a small complementary point and shoot camera that I could take with me any where I went. I was thinking Panasonic LX-3, but since I got this one free, really can’t complain much. But, that being said, it is seriously a terrible camera. I took some shot under office lighting, the flash came off and the shot looks out of focus. I also tried some low light performance by taking some shot on the tennis court. It has unbelievable noise and just hard to look at it. I am still out of a P&S camera..

Polarize filter

I have decided to purchase a polarize filter for the landscape photography. It was impossible to achieve the color saturation and pixel quality without a polarize filter. I got one from Hoya for around USD40, it had received very good review and is recommended by several famous web photographers. I sure will be able to test it out quickly when I receive it…

Apigigi

•January 18, 2009 • 2 Comments

I flew to Saipan, CNMI this Wednesday for business, on the way, my boss, who is a Filipino, and a 2 year Saipan resident, led me into a pastry shop for some Apigigi. The pastry is out of a residential house and it is very “simple”. Definitely would not be the place I usually buy pastry from. Apigigi seems to be some kind of rice mixed with coconut milk and fried, then wrapped inside some kind of leaf. Cannot say it is healthy, but sure it is tasty. As usual, here is the picture for the pastry and Apigigi.
